Demo project on monitoring system
Our client is a big American company, whose core business is in IT management tools. They offer numerous solutions, including monitoring systems, which monitor server storage volumes, disk usage and capacity metrics. The systems track key resources, and forecast when you will run out of capacity. In order to demonstrate the monitor systems’ opportunities, the client needed a test infrastructure to fully and tangibly show the monitoring systems’ potential. To solve this task, the client contacted PFLB.

To demonstrate the client’s system abilities, our team proposed the following solutions:
- To use a platform on several servers with different hardware and software configurations;
- To run the testing system chosen by the client on the server and to install the monitoring agents;
- To perform load testing using Apache JMeter;
- To switch to a cloud server in the peak load conditions;
- To record video on monitoring system performance and its response on load changes.

Average CPU load on on-premises and cloud application servers.
During the project we monitored the servers when load was placed on testing system. When we recorded a critical growth of server resources load and system response time, we introduced cloud servers – after that the average response time decreased. The demo included server monitoring with different operation systems – a monitoring agent, which is installed on every server, hands out data.
Results of the project
As a result of the project, the client received video, screenshots and descriptions, which tangibly demonstrate the monitoring system capabilities given a different demand on the test system. In the future the customer will use these reports for advertisement.
